The Joyful ArTist

A Journal page and the start of my drawing angels. I thought I may do more work on this page one day.
My neighbours lost thier 4 year old, Conor to cancer. They release ballons for him often. This one is for my Kyle.
Here's a doll who brings me joy. Keith came out of my husbands old suit vest material. No pattern or plan as usual, which is why I am so happy with him I guess.
One of the first pages I did when starting altered books. I quickly found that personal symbology and meaning appear even when they are not planned. Making the whole area of altered books even more fascinating to me.
In The Garden This is a beeswax collage I did during the spring last year. The wax came from a day trip to the bee farm. I love the smell of beeswax and found this technique very relaxing.
Ben .........I gave this guy to my neighbour the other day to try and cheer her up and to remind her to "take time" for herself".
Protected .........This is a watercolor I did the other day I had no idea the angel was going to appear. Isn't it funny how that happens?
Here it is January 2006, a new year.
One started with the intention of having a Joyful one.
So far I have been joyful every day if only for awhile.
I am so happy that my inner child has come out to play
(my intentions last year? To become more childlike)
and I intend to nourish her soul. I paint wings alot at the
moment, angels, birds and feathers.
To me, for now, this is Joy.
